AI-based Cross-lingual Research
Find patents across languages
INTERGATOR Patent Search searches millions of patents in different languages. Start your search in one language and you will not only get patents in that language, but also hits in other languages. You can seamlessly switch between languages without having to restart your search. To this end, INTERGATOR uses language-based AI models that are compatible with each other and significantly improve the search. The linguistic challenge so far has been the diversity of languages, which differ not only grammatically, but also in the way words are formed (composed). While some languages, such as German, allow the formation of new words by stringing different terms together, in other languages they are separated from each other and become intelligible only through their contextual meaning.
This circumstance is a technological challenge for cross-language searches across multiple languages, which INTERGATOR Patent Search's artificial intelligence has now mastered well. Without having to translate the terms, INTERGATOR recognizes the similarity between the words "drilling machine" and "boring machine" from the context in which they are used and lists both German and English patents for this term within a search query.
Often, a search begins with the entry of one or more search terms within a language. The search hits are narrowed down using filters, facets, additional term entries or an exploratory search within the Smart Map. This also includes patents in other languages, which thus become part of the hit list.
60 Million Patents and Growing
In the current version, we have the Questel patent inventory of the D-A-CH region, the US Patent Office, the European Patent Office and WIPO in German and English and have developed these patents into a modern search platform with our artificial intelligence. In Q3/2022 we will implement the Asian patent specifications and in Q4/2022 the remaining relevant patent specifications will follow with language-based AI models.
